Ramornie and Grafton Cup days have traditionally been very tough days for the locals to win a race but this year a Grafton trained horse managed to win a race on each of the two main days.
Ramornie Day was looking a little bleak until the final event of the afternoon proved to be a Critical Time.
Although Grafton horses had been in six of the previous seven races until the last winners had been hard to come by.
However in the BM 58 1400m the Scott Henley prepared Critical Time scored a very impressive victory.
Ridden by the in form Arron Bullock, Critical Time found the one, one before the first turn to be given the run of the race until the 500m when Bullock got on his bike to put the gelding in control as heads were turned for home.
In the end Critical Time bounded away to score a super impressive victory. It was the third win for Critical Time since joining team Henley but judging by the way he put his opposition to the sword another win is just around the corner.
Cup Day and the wait was much shorter with the Sam McGuren trained Satin And Cash saluting in Race two of the day the Class1 1400m.
Ridden by Jake Bayliss Satin And Cash settled midfield but was always travelling well before Bayliss made ground to be stalking the leaders as the home turn was reached. It took 50 meters for a clear run to come but once in clear air it was race over with Satin and Cash racing away to win with some authority.
It was the second win for the filly in her five runs since joining the McGuren stable where she has never been further back than fourth.
