I did not forget that the Shane Everson yard was also in the winners circle at Grafton last week when September Girl scored a solid victory in the Class2 1006m in what was an all Grafton Finish.
Ridden by Matt McGuren September Girl sat outside the leader and from that position McGuren was able to control the tempo of the race to suit himself before going for home on the point of the turn and it was almost immediately race over as September Girl bolted away to win with something in the locker.
It was the second win on the trot for the mare which had earlier scored a very impressive win in a Ballina Class 1 1000m in mid-February when also ridden by McGuren in that win September Girl stalked the leaders before sliding to the front on the point of the turn and like Grafton race away to win well.
September Girl has now had two runs back from a spell for two wins which I am sure makes up for the frustration of last preparation where she was the bridesmaid on no less than four occasions
There is no doubt camp Everson will be enjoying the change of luck.
