Racing in Review – Boxing Day

With Boxing Day racing over Grafton based trainers scored winners at both NRRA TAB meetings.

Wayne Lawson travelled north to Ballina much to the appreciation of punters when the well backed LADY CLARE scored a solid win in the Class 2 1005m.

Ridden by Leah Kilner the mare was given the run of the race in third before dashing into the clear on the point of the home turn to quickly put the issue beyond doubt. Although getting tired close to the line LADY CLARE held on to win well.

Andy Parramore headed south to Bowraville with the bold front running stayer STEPPIN OUT in the BM 50 2200m

Ridden by the “King of Bowra” Stephen Traecey, STEPPIN OUT went straight to the top and dictated terms throughout the event and although looking in some distress on the point of the home turn found plenty under the urgings of Traecey to hold off the challenges and score a solid win.
