With only a small team in work Grafton based trainer David Campbell is having a good season from so few runners.
Recently David went south to Port Macquarie with very pleasing results from the stable newcomer The Lupercal in a BM 58 1200m.
Having only his third start for the yard The Lupercal ridden by Will Stanley had to overcome a very tricky gate and did plenty of work in the run to the first turn before taking control of the event.
Once in the premier position Stanley gave the gelding a breather before kicking shortly after the home turn and it was race over with The Lupercal racing away to win by many lengths easing down.
