With Grafton down to race again next Tuesday I will continue the review of the performances of our Grafton based trainers.
Andrew Parramore has experienced good success in recent weeks.
Firstly on Lismore Cup Day he was able to get Intoxel over the line in one of the feature events the $50K BM 58 1300m.
Ridden by Anthony Allen, Intoxel had the advantage of the inside gate and was given a peach of a ride thereafter holding third the fence before shifting into the clear on the point of the home turn and then finding plenty in the run to the finish to score with authority.
Fast forward to yesterday and Andrew had the task of getting the promising mare Next Pay Run to put her best foot forward.
It is fair to say the mare has been a bit of a handful in the past causing Andy’s blonde locks to turn grey however a return to race day gear that had previously failed looks like it has done the trick with the mare.
Next Pay Run has often had an inclination to over race but the cross noseband reapplied at Ballina recently proved beyond doubt yesterday to have done the trick.
Ridden by Ben Looker who has now won three on the mare and yesterday got her settle outside the leader in a slowly run 1400m Class 2 .
Once heads were turned for home Looker was off for the prize and for her rivals it was a case of them waiting for their “Next Pay Run” as the mare bolted in.
