With the delayed Casino Cup meeting coming up on Saturday Grafton trainer Sam McGuren will be looking to make it two cups in eight days with the revitalised He’s a Copy Boy.
He’s A Copy Boy has been racing in great form since joining the McGuren yard winning over the rich July Carnival at Grafton before heading for a short break.
He returned to racing with a strong first up performance at Ballina before heading to Taree last week for the Krambach Cup 1600m.
Ridden by Ben Looker He’s A Copy boy came from well back in the field on the home turn to storm down the outside and score a very impressive win.
To make the victory even sweeter He’s A Copy Boy is part owned by the Bakewell family who were the sponsors of the event. Of even greater significance the late Allan Bakewell was a former Chairman of the Krambach Race Club so to win this race was pretty much a dream come true. Ross Stitt who is in the ownership trained many winners for the Bakewell family and was also a former master of Sam McGuren in her riding days.
Team McGuren has been producing plenty of winners this season with one of her stable stars Jewels Statement successful in a BM 66 1106m at a Grafton meeting in late September. Jewels Statement has since gone for a well earned break.
