A number of Grafton trainers headed to Coffs Harbour on Sunday with what looked like good winning chances however it was not until the final event of the day that Grafton looked like striking a blow with not one Grafton trained runner being placed prior to the last race.
Things however were about to change with the Scott Henley prepared Come On Glamour scoring its most impressive career victory in the Class3 1010m.
Ridden by Ella Drew Come On Glamour had to overcome the extreme outside gate in what was always going to be a race with plenty of speed.
Come On Glamour jumped poorly and was clear second last however Drew did not panic and simply allowed the filly to stride forward under no pressure to be stalking the leaders rounding the home turn.
Once heads were turned for home Drew allowed the filly to balance up before going for home at the 200m. Come On Glamour found plenty under pressure to kick away and then hold on and win with some authority.
It was the fourth win for the promising filly from six starts this preparation. Trainer Scott Henley revealed after the event that the filly will now be sent for a well earned break.
