With no luck for Grafton trainers on day one of 2026 the is still some catching up to do.
Grafton trainer Jason Reilly has experienced a quieter start to this season following on from his best training result ever last season.
Nevertheless there still have been some winners along the way.
Jason Reilly is not afraid to attack Bowraville and he did exactly that on cup day earlier in the year when Montgomery scored a very solid victory in the BM 50 1370m. It was just the third start for the stable for the gelding. The win took the Reilly stable winning percentage at Bowraville to an amazing 42.9%.
Additionally Jason who can find an up coming apprentice supplied Grady Spokes with his first winner as an apprentice at only his third ride since taking out his professional licence.
The winning run of that combination did not stop there with Montgomery also going on to win at a Bm 58 1400m at Grafton in November.
Between those two victories Jason sored a personal milestone when Midwest Princess was successful in a Grafton Maiden 1000m when ridden by Maddie Owen.
That win was the 70th career success for Reilly who made the move to Grafton to commence his training business around nine years ago.
There is little doubt Grafton is one of hos favorite tracks with almost half his winners coming on his home circuit.
