The return to racing at Grafton more often than not is celebrated by a victory to at least one Grafton based trainer and that again proved to be the case on Sunday.
The sole Grafton winner on Sunday came courtesy of the Lisa Sheppard yard when the lightly raced Zosma scored a courageous win in the Maiden 1048m.
Ridden by Danny Peisley Zosma came into the race on the back of two solids seconds at his previous two starts.
Zosma settled third in the run before Peisley eased into the clear below the 300m and in a thrilling finish all the way to the post got the judges nod in a close photo.
Zosma was the first winner for the Lisa Sheppard yard this season from a limited number of race day starters.
