Grafton’s senior statesmen trainer John Shelton made the trip to Murwillumbah with just one runner on a very hot Sunday with very pleasing results.
It was lucky start number thirteen for Sources Link which had resumed from a spell with a solid fourth in an Armidale Maiden 1100m.
Ridden by Luke Rolls Sources Link won the start in the Maiden 1200m and took control of the tempo shortly after. From that point on Sources Link was never really in serious danger and then found plenty in the run to the finish to hold off the challengers.
Sources Link is raced by a large syndicate including CRJC board member Terry Green and former Graftonian Jamie Kenneally who were both on track to celebrate the victory.
Shelton now heads to Grafton tomorrow with a four strong attack.
